I photographed this .6 kt ruby ring with the Olympus C2100. If you enlarge this photo, you can see the flaws inside the stone. As you can see, depth of field at this magnification is pretty shallow.

This fellow posed for me while I was patiently waiting for a tiger to come out of hiding. Oh well.  It is orange with black stripes.  It is just a little smaller than the feline I was after.  (Olympus C-2100 UZ)

   

I once spent an entire morning trying to photograph butterflies and had no luck.
